Maple Sugar vs Brown Sugar

The major benefit of maple sugar over brown sugar is that the former is made from just one key ingredient: pure maple syrup. The syrup is boiled until all the water has been extracted, at which point only solid sugar is left. This also means that it is composed almost entirely of sucrose, as opposed to brown sugar. There are only very small amounts of fructose and glucose. This means that it is sweeter than brown sugar and has a lighter appearance.

Granulated maple sugar has a sweet flavor, a great texture, and is versatile enough to be used in a host of recipes that you're working on.

How to Store Granulated Maple Sugar

One of the challenges of granulated maple sugar is that it easily absorbs moisture. This means that especially when you buy in bulk, your maple sugar needs to be stored in a cool, dry, airtight container. Thankfully, there is no need for refrigeration - your maple sugar should be stored at room temperature whenever possible.
