Coronavirus Response Preparedness Statement
Indiana Sugars believes there is nothing more important than the safety of our product, our people and our customers. Indiana Sugars is implementing the following strategies to provide an uninterrupted supply of safe products and services to our facilities.
The vast majority of the materials sourced by Indiana Sugars comes from multiple domestic supply chains. We will continue to closely monitor information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization for information potentially relevant to our supply chain. All key ingredients are sourced with multiple suppliers, allowing for alternate supply arrangements in the event of any disruption. In addition, many of the manufacturing capabilities at Indiana Sugar’s Gary, IN location are duplicated in at least one of our other facilities, including Missouri Sugars (Neosho, MO), Sweet Specialty Solutions (Lemont, IL), New England Sugars (Worcester, MA) and New York Sugars (Rochester, NY).
We will continue to emphasize our robust sanitation plans in all facilities and in transport, and our Good Manufacturing Processes will continue to be rigorously enforced. We are also meeting with all team members on a regular basis to discuss personal hygiene and safe practices to reduce our risk. All of our facilities are currently SQF Edition 8.01 certified and all heighten safety protocols are in effect.
Indiana Sugars employees are trained on personal hygiene requirements and disease control upon hire and in annual refresher training. Employees who are ill or are carriers of an infectious disease are required to report their condition to management. Employees exhibiting signs of illness are excluded from operations that may spread the infection to other employees or contaminate food or food-contact surfaces. In critical manufacturing and service positions, our employees are cross-trained to provide additional coverage in the case of an employee absence.
Indiana Sugars will continue to monitor information and seek advice from local, State and Federal health officials concerning the novel coronavirus and other infectious diseases. Indiana Sugars will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate the impacts of the novel coronavirus as the situation evolves. This includes evaluation of our critical suppliers’ ability to provide continuity of safe and uninterrupted supply.
Should Indiana Sugars anticipate any disruptions in its ability to supply our customers, this will be communicated promptly to those potentially impacted.
